Digitalized Council decisions’ database donated by INFOÇIP to Lushnja Municipality

LUSHNJA, 25 March 2013 – The Centre for Public Information Issues, INFOÇIP, delivered to Lushnja Municipal Council the database of its decisions already digitalized and uploaded online. The donation ceremony was held in the Council’s meeting of Monday, 25 March 2013. The director of INFOCIP, Mr. Gerti Shella, after the welcoming speech in front of the councilmen, made a full demonstration of the database potential and relevant functions. “After Korça and Durres municipalities, INFOÇIP has currently digitalized and registered online all council decisions of Lushnja municipality from 2007 to date”, said Shella in his speech. He also appreciated the constructive support provided by the Mayor of Lushnja, Fatos Tushe and the chairman of the Municipal Council, Asllan Haxhiu.

The database of Lushnja Municipal Council decisions was the first one to be delivered within the framework of the second phase of digitalization of the municipal councils’ decisions, which includes also the municipalities of Fier, Vlora and Berat. This important digitalization process is conducted by INFOCIP in the frame of the initiative “Open Local Governance through Innovation”. The digitalisation process is being supported by the Commission for Democracy of the US Embassy in Tirana.

All decisions registered online by INFOCIP are fully accessible online, searchable by keywords and can be downloaded free of charge and at any time by all interested parties. INFOÇIP is about to provide technical capacities and full training to the responsible personnel at Lushnja Municipality regarding the publication/independent online registration of the new decisions to be taken by Lushnja Municipal Council for the time being, following the donation of database by INFOÇIP.
